Features:
1. Instantaneous transmission ratio is constant. The instantaneous transmission ratio of non-circular gear transmission can be designed according to the changing law of demand.

Type:
1. According to the relative position of the two axes and the direction of the gear teeth, it can be divided into the following types:
(1) spur gear transmission;
(2) Helical cylindrical gear transmission;

(5) Cross-axle helical gear transmission.
2. According to the working premise of gear, it can be divided into:
(1) Open gear transmission, gear exposed to the outside, can not guarantee good lubrication.
(2) Semi-open gear transmission, gear immersed in oil pool, with shield, but not blocked.
(3) Closed gear transmission, gears, shafts and bearings are all installed in the sealed box. The lubrication condition is excellent, the ash sand is not easy to enter, and the installation is accurate.

Gear transmission can be divided into cylindrical gear transmission, bevel gear transmission, non-circular gear transmission, rack transmission and worm transmission according to the shape of the gear.

A transmission consisting of more than two gears is called a gear train. The gear with axes in the gear train is called planetary gear. Gear transmission can be divided into closed type according to its working premise.
Gear transmission calculation, open and half-open transmission. It is called closed transmission that the transmission is sealed in rigid case and good lubrication is guaranteed. Closed transmission must be adopted more often, especially for gear transmission with higher speed. Open drive is exposed, can not guarantee good lubrication, only for low speed or not the primary transmission. The half-open drive is between the two.
